Bulldogs Fight for Justice: Poverty
Bulldogs Fight for Justice
Hey Bulldogs! In this week's topic we will be talking about poverty in the world today. As you may know, poverty is something that we see on a daily basis, whether you see it on the street at a grocery store or anywhere else you know it happens.
Poverty can be an obstacle in any families life. For example not being able to afford food, water, or even clothing, basic necessities.Sadly, about 20 % of the people in California suffer of poverty which equals to 7.5 million families and kids.Imagine waking up and not knowing if there is food in your table, or going back to school and knowing you don't have the supplies to keep up with school. Things can be very stressful in a mother's or father's mind.
On the other hand, there is many ways you can help. Logically, you can help people in need with money, but there are sometimes that you see people on drugs or anything else and you know they are not going to use the money wisely. Instead you can maybe give them food.
Another way is to go to your local community organizations like Sacred Heart, The Salvation Army, or local food banks and bring in food or clothing. To wrap it up, these are some ways you can help your local community. Remember to always try to help those in need.
Put yourself in their shoes and treat others the way you would like to be treated. That's it bulldogs have an amazing day.
