8th Grade Promotion

The 8th grade promotion is a celebration of your child’s accomplishments and marks the important transition to high school. This, however, is a privilege. Students may lose the privilege of participating in the promotion ceremony and other 8th grade grade activities/privileges for the following reasons:

  • Failure to meet the academic criteria for receiving a promotion certificate
  • Failure to maintain a 1.50 cumulative GPA
  • Disciplinary actions for inappropriate behaviors
  • Any disruptive and/or inappropriate misbehavior during the promotion practice
  • Excessive absences or tardies

Some of these activities/provledges include:

  • Panoramic Class Picture
  • Promotion Dance
  • Raging Waters Trip
  • Honor Roll Trip
  • Sports Award Ceremony
  • Special Honors Awards Night
  • Promotion Ceremony
