Students will be inspired to reach their full academic and social potential. We will use the strengths of each individual to build an inclusive and collaborative school campus for students, parents, and staff.
LeyVa Middle School will be the model for equity in education where each student is prepared for the future.
Dear students and families,
It is a great honor to be named principal of LeyVa Middle School, a California Gold Ribbon School. LeyVa is a school with a rich and diverse history. For the past six years, I have had the opportunity to serve this community as principal of Katherine Smith Elementary. Prior, I worked at another Evergreen middle school. While I have been given great opportunities, I am incredibly excited to begin my journey with LeyVa Middle School and inspire our students at such a crucial transition as your child moves from elementary to high school.
I am first and foremost an advocate for your child and this community. I will do this with the dedicated LeyVa staff – some familiar faces and some new ones, too. First, let’s welcome two new assistant principals, Hilda Keller and Kristi Frankina. They will join me, Armando Lara, and Bulldog Tech Site Director Randy Hollenkamp as your administrative team. Please also welcome the following additions to the staff: Jason Stull, Dynelle Babb, Loretta Toy, Michelle Balistreri, Duny Lam, Legare Hinds, Sherry Martinez-Yrigan, and Cynthia Fuentes. Also, Annie Williams, a familiar face and passionate educator, is coming back to LeyVa. We are excited to have them all join this already amazing staff.
LeyVa Middle School proudly offers parents and students two instructional choices. Whether you chose Bulldog Tech or the comprehensive journey, we promise to give your child the most engaging and excellent education — an education to serve him or her in the 21st Century where we all must communicate effectively, think critically, collaborate, and be creative problem solvers.
The doors will open for the 45th time this year. Your child can look forward to an amazing year with strong academics and extra-curricular activities. Encourage him or her to get involved with sports or other school activities. There are friendships that last a lifetime that start in middle school.
The key to our success is clear collaboration and communication between home and school. Please stop by, share your ideas, your expertise, and your passion. We are here to serve you. And, look for opportunities to get involved with our PTSA (Parent Teacher Student) or other important parent leadership committees.
I look forward to an incredible year — preserving tradition while preparing for the future.
Aaron Brengard, Principal
