LeyVa Middle School is a public school serving 7th and 8th grade students in the Evergreen School District of San Jose, California.
About LeyVa
LeyVa Middle School offers two unique options for students. When entering 7th grade, students will have the option to choose which educational style fits them best. There are two programs available: Bulldog Tech (BT) and Bulldog Pathways (BP).
Each program offers rigorous common core standards that are taught by highly qualified teachers. Each program also offers a collaborative teaching model.
Pathways has content specific teacher teams who collaborate together throughout the year to best support students who travel to all their classrooms. BT offers a co-teaching model that allows for the students to learn with two teachers per room in a dual learning environment. Pathway also uses Project-Based Learning (PBL) as the method of delivery to teach the common core standards and to engage students.
Both programs offer technology usage to enhance the educational experience for students. What makes Pathway unique is the 1:1 teach to student ratio as well as the teaching method that is used.
The important part to remember is that we are one united middle school. All students have equal access to school programs, athletics, clubs, etc.
As a Bulldog, students have a choice in their academic program. Offering differentiated academic programs for students to choose makes our middle school cutting edge, student centered, and inclusive to all learners. At LeyVa, we are proud of our diverse academic programs and we strive to create a middle school experience that engages every student!

Dear LeyVa Middle School families,
It is a great honor to be principal of LeyVa Middle School, a California Gold Ribbon School. LeyVa is a school with a rich and diverse history of excellence in academics and athletics. I am incredibly excited to lead your child on his or her journey at LeyVa Middle School at such a crucial transition as he or she moves from elementary to high school.
LeyVa Middle School proudly offers parents and students two instructional choices. Whether you chose Bulldog Tech or Bulldog Pathways, we promise to give your student an engaging and excellent education — an education to serve him or her in the 21st Century where we all must communicate effectively, think critically, collaborate, and be creative problem solvers.
The doors will open for the 52nd time on August 18. Your child can look forward to an amazing year with strong academics and extra-curricular activities. It’s critical to encourage your student to get involved with sports, clubs, school spirit, dances or other school activities. It will support him or her in connecting with the school community and will lead to friendships that he or she will have for a lifetime.
Another key to our success is clear collaboration and communication between home and school. Expect weekly email communication from us, come to a Coffee Talk, our monthly parent meeting with the admin team and more. We look forward to having you contribute your ideas and passion to make our community even stronger.
