Girls Basketball

Students interested in trying out for the girls basketball team should attend our student information meeting held in the gym prior to the start of registration. 

Registration to tryout and play for the 7th and 8th grades Girls Basketball teams will take place online.  Registration opens after the student information meeting. 

All LeyVa students are eligible to try out for our teams. Due to team size limitations, students must be selected to the basketball, soccer, and volleyball teams. Cross country, wrestling, and track and field are no cut sports and welcome all eligible students.

• Tryouts for the 7th and 8th grade Girls' Basketball Teams will be held in the Bulldog Gym,  October 6th, 7th and 8th. 8th grade tryouts are 2:30 - 4 p.m. 7th grade tryouts/practices has an adjusted schedule for the first 2 weeks. Please contact Ms. Buswell for more information. 
• Parents must complete the online registration and parents and students must read and sign the information on concussion and sudden cardiac arrest before attending tryouts. These forms can be found in the online registration form and are available on the Athletics Overiew page under Forms. 
• Girls basketball is a limited-roster sport. Due to team size restrictions, students will participate in tryouts, and not all who try out may be selected. However, students who are interested in staying involved can apply for a team manager position.
• We encourage everyone to give their best effort and show teamwork, commitment, and a positive attitude throughout the process.

• Regular practice days and times for the 7th  & 8th grade teams are Monday-Thursday 2:30 - 4 p.m.  (excluding game days) in the Bulldog Gym.
• Practice times will be determined at the start of the season.
• 7th grade tryouts/practices has an adjusted schedule for the first 2 weeks. Please contact Ms. Buswell for more information. 

• You must maintain a 2.0+ GPA to compete in meets, with no  Fs, or N/U citizenship grades. 
• Grades will be checked on the eligibility date noted at the top of this page. 
• Students who do not meet grade level expectations will be removed from the team.
