About the 2024 Season
2024 Girls Basketball Registration
Starts: Wednesday September 25 at 2:30 p.m.
Closes: October 3 at 10 p.m.
Online Registration
Registration to tryout and play for the 7th and 8th grades Girls' Basketball teams will take place online. Registration begins on Wednesday September 25, 2024 at 2:30 p.m.
All LeyVa students are eligible to try out for our teams. Due to team size limitations, students must be selected to the basketball, soccer, and volleyball teams. Cross country, wrestling, and track and field are no cut sports and welcome all eligible students.
Student Information Meeting
On Wednesday September 25, 2024, any student interested in trying out for the Bulldog Girls' Basketball teams can meet at the beginning of lunch in the gym.
Tryouts
Tryouts for the 7th and 8th grade Girls' Basketball Teams will be held in the Bulldog Gym. Parents must complete the online registration and parents and students must read the information on concussion and sudden cardiac arrest before attending tryouts. These forms can be found in the online registration form and are available on the Athletics Overiew page under Forms. Please contact the coaches for more information.
Practice
Regular practice days and times for the 7th & 8th grade teams are Monday-Thursday 2:30 - 4 p.m.* (excluding game days) in the Bulldog Gym. Practice times will be determined upon the start of the season. 7th grade tryouts/practices has an adjusted schedule for the first 2 weeks. Please contact Ms. Buswell with specific date/times.
Team Member Requirements
- You must maintain a 2.0+ GPA to compete in meets, with no Fs, or U citizenship grades.
- Grades will be checked on October 20, 2023
Games
On Game Days
The 7th grade team plays first. The 8th grade team plays second.
Basketball Spectator Admission Fee*
- Regular season home game prices: $3 for adults, $2 for students, free for 5 years old and under.
- Play-off prices: $3 for adults, $2 for students, free for 5 years old and under.
*prices are subject to change depending on the league’s pricing.

Donate to Bulldog Sports
LeyVa Middle School does not charge a participation fee to play. We rely on the fundraising efforts of our students and staff to pay for our after school sports program. As a result, we ask all of our student athletes make a $25 donation to the athletic program. To donate please download, print, and submit this donation form:
We encourage all students to participate in our sports program. It is a great way to make new friends and to create lifelong memories of your middle school experience. No student will be denied participation due to financial considerations. Please ask your PE teacher or a team coach for more information.
