All LeyVa students are eligible to try out for our teams. Due to team size limitations, students must be selected to the basketball, soccer, and volleyball teams. Cross country, wrestling, and track and field are no cut sports and welcome all eligible students.
Begins Monday, September 20 at 1 p.m.
Ends Sunday, October 3 at 10 p.m.
Registration to tryout and play for the 7th and 8th grades Girls' Basketball teams will take place online. Registration begins on Monday, September 20 at 1 p.m. and closes Sunday, October 3 at 10 p.m.
Student Information Meeting
On Wednesday September 23, any student interested in trying out for the Bulldog Girls' Basketball teams can meet at the beginning of lunch in the gym.
Tryouts for the 7th and 8th grade Girls' Basketball Teams will be held in the Bulldog Gym. Parents must complete the online registration and parents and students must read the information on concussion and sudden cardiac arrest before attending tryouts. These forms can be found in the online registration form and are available on the Athletics Overiew page under Forms. Please contact the coaches for more information.
Regular practice days and times are Monday-Thursday 2:30 - 4 p.m.* (excluding game days) in the Bulldog Gym.
*NOTE: The 7th grade team will begin practice at 3:30 p.m. for the first two weeks due to the overlapping season with Cross Country.
Team Member Requirements
- You must maintain a 2.0+ GPA to compete in meets, with no Ds, Fs, or U citizenship grades.
- Grades will be checked on October 25.
On Game Days
7th grade plays first. 8th grade plays second.
Basketball Spectator Admission Fee*
- Each athlete may bring 2 guests who are fully Covid-19 vaccinated. Guests will be asked to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination when paying for admission fees at the door. Masks must be worn by guests at all times and observe Covid-19 Safety Guidelines found in the right column of this page.
- Regular season home game prices: $3 for adults, $2 for students, free for 5 years old and under.
- Play-off prices: $3 for adults, $2 for students, free for 5 years old and under.

Middle School Sports
Beginning March 28, 2022, attendance by parents/caregivers is allowed at indoor and outdoor youth recreation under the following conditions:
For indoor events, mask wearing is required at all times for ages 2 and up.
For outdoor events, mask wearing is optional.
Event capacity and guest limits will be determined by site depending on physical space and event type.
Exclude anyone with COVID-19 symptoms including fever over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
The event must be held after school hours.
Attendance is voluntary.
Following the CDPH and the Eastside Athletic League guidance, face masks guidance is as follows:
Masks are required indoors at all times for teachers, referees, officials, coaches, and other support staff.
Masks are required indoors for all spectators and observers.
Masks are required indoors at all times when participants are not actively practicing, conditioning, competing, or performing. Masks are also required indoors while on the sidelines, in team meetings, and within locker rooms and weight rooms
If masks are not worn due to heavy exertion (such as wrestling), individuals will undergo screening testing at least once weekly. An FDA-approved antigen test, PCR test, or pooled PCR test is acceptable for evaluation of an individual's COVID-19 status.
For outdoor sports such as soccer, track and field, or cross country, mask wearing is optional while outdoors. Within indoor locker rooms and weight rooms, masks are mandatory.
These guidelines will be adjusted based on CDPH updates.
